A quick one this week.
In September 1964, the illustrator Hilary Knight received this letter from his publisher, Ursula Nordstrom.
Dear Hilary,
I hesitate to worry you, but I thought I should tell you that some enemy of yours is writing me very angry letters and signing your name to them.
Have a good week.
Ursula Nordstrum
Ooof. I love how, instead of fighting fire with fire, she gives Knight room to redeem himself. But at the same time, she sets clear boundaries as to what she’s willing to tolerate.
Food for thought?
