And I’ve got a food-themed communication tip for you today.
It’s a brilliantly simple formula from Ginny Reddish in her excellent book, ‘Letting Go Of The Words.’
She advises the following formula when you’re writing online.
Bite – Snack – Meal
So…
- Start with a summary and benefit to lure your reader in.
- Give them a little more to chew on.
- Finally, if they’re hungry enough, they can savour the full information.
It’s a recipe for writing success.
And you can use this formula for anything you write online, but it’s also a great one to apply to presentations, speeches, reports – you name it.
If you’d like more tips like these, take a listen to the Digital Marketing Podcast. I chat to host Ciaran Rogers all about writing for the web. It’s only 19 mins long and packed with practical advice.
