I’m lucky enough to live near a palace.
Not Buckingham or Kensington. (I know. Shocking, right? )
No, it’s Alexandra Palace. Originally built in 1873, it’s perched on top of a hill in North London with the best free view of the city you can get.
But right now, the park that surrounds it is parched. The once green, green grass is yellow and straw-like after a baking summer.
So the park keepers shared this new sign to guard against fires:
I love it. Funny, simple, powerful.
It’s a timely reminder to us all – if we want people to hear our message we can’t just say it once.
We have to say it over and over.
Sometimes in a range of different ways to get through to different people.
Marketers say we need to repeat ourselves a minimum of seven times, like in this picture.
I say when you’re absolutely, totally, 100% sick to death of repeating your message – well, that’s when other people will start to hear it.
(And I might have told you this before, but, you know, repetition.)
